Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LeMaRiva|tech ("we", "us", "our") processes personal data when you visit https://lemariva.com (the "Service"), in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German data protection law.

1. Who is responsible (data controller)

See also our Impressum.

2. General principles

We only process personal data where we have a legal basis to do so under Art. 6 GDPR, and only to the extent necessary for the stated purpose. The legal bases we rely on are:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — e.g. for statistical/analytics cookies and the newsletter. You can withdraw consent at any time with future effect.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — e.g. for keeping the site secure, and for content served through third-party networks in the ordinary operation of the site.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — e.g. retention of certain log data as required by law.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider (IONOS). Each time you access this website, the hosting provider's servers automatically collect and store information in server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. This typically includes: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing device, time of the request, and IP address.

This data is not merged with other data sources. It is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in ensuring the technical operation and security of the website, and is generally deleted automatically after a short period.

4. Cookies and consent management

This website uses a cookie consent tool ("Small GDPR") to obtain and manage your consent for non-essential cookies. Two categories of cookies are used:

  • Necessary cookies — required for the website to function (e.g. remembering your cookie preference itself). These are set on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / § 25(2) TTDSG and do not require consent.
  • Statistical cookies — used for the analytics purposes described in section 5 below. These are only set with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TTDSG).

You can review and change your consent at any time on our Manage Cookies page.

5. Website analytics (Google Analytics 4)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (and, for data transfers, Google LLC, USA) ("Google"), together with Google Tag Manager to load the analytics script. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyze how visitors use this website (e.g. pages visited, time spent, referring site). IP address anonymization is enabled for this website, meaning Google shortens/truncates your IP address within EU/EEA member states before any further processing, except in exceptional cases where the full IP address is first transmitted to a Google server in the US and shortened there.

The information generated is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Where personal data is transferred to the US, Google self-certifies under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website activity and internet usage.

This processing only takes place if you have given consent via the cookie banner or the Manage Cookies page; you can withdraw this consent at any time with future effect. More information: Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

6. Advertising and affiliate programs

This website displays third-party advertising served through Google's ad-serving infrastructure (Google Ad Manager / AdSense), and contains affiliate links to third-party retailers (including Banggood, AliExpress, Gearbest, JLCPCB, PCBWay, SeeedFusion, and similar electronics/hobbyist retailers) — see our Disclaimer for details on affiliate and sponsored content.

Ad-serving scripts on this website may set cookies or use similar technologies in your browser to serve and measure advertising, largely independent of the statistical-cookies consent described above. If you wish to limit ad personalization, you can do so through Google's Ad Settings, your browser's cookie controls, or a browser extension that blocks third-party advertising/tracking scripts.

7. Newsletter (Mailchimp)

If you subscribe to our newsletter, the email address you provide is processed by Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC, USA), our newsletter dispatch provider, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Mailchimp self-certifies under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for data transferred to the US. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter email, or by contacting us directly. More information: Mailchimp's Privacy Policy.

8. Contact form and comments

If you contact us via our contact form, we process the information you provide (e.g. name, email address, message) in order to respond to your inquiry, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR. If you post a comment on the blog, your name/nickname, email address, and the content of your comment, along with your IP address and the time of submission, are stored to allow moderation and to prevent abuse. This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

9. reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect forms on this website from spam and automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects information such as your IP address and mouse/browser behavior, which is transmitted to and processed by Google. This is done on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in protecting the website from abuse. More information: Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

10. Internal, first-party post statistics

We use a first-party "most visited posts" feature to count views of individual blog posts and surface popular articles. This does not use cross-site tracking cookies and is not linked to an identifiable person.

11. How long we keep your data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Contact-form and comment data is generally retained for as long as needed to handle your inquiry or keep the comment published, and deleted or anonymized once no longer needed. Consent-based analytics/newsletter data is processed only for as long as your consent remains in effect.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • request access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR);
  • request rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR);
  • request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten") (Art. 17 GDPR);
  • request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
  • receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR); and
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@lemariva.com.

13. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website or to legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
